Pre-Ballet
Students learn the basics of dance classroom etiquette while simultaneously enjoying themselves through balletic creativity. Class includes repetition through musical memory, artistic expression, and storytelling through movement. |
Primary Ballet
Students learn to stand with poise, perform movement to defined musical phrases, and become aware of one’s spatial relationship to others. Class includes floor work, center standing, and across-the-floor movements. |
Level 1 Ballet
Students begin working with the ballet barre in order to emphasize technique in posture, turnout, and length of the limbs, in addition to center work. Class includes barre, stretching, and center movements in various patterns. |
Level 2 Ballet
Students continue use of working knowledge and basic vocabulary of the previous levels while raising leg extensions and gaining power in turns and jumps. Class follows the classical format of barre, center, adage, pirouettes, and allegro. |
Level 3 Ballet
Students of the intermediate to advanced ability continue building on the classical foundation learned in previous levels and become eligible to begin dancing "en pointe”. Class sequences become longer and more complex. |
Pre-Pointe
Students learn and practice conditioning exercises to gain the strength and flexibility required to dance en pointe. Class includes floor and barre work, focusing on building the muscles of the lower legs, ankles, and feet. |
Pre-Tap
Students learn the basics of tap dance, which is a style that uses specific shoes with taps on the bottom to strike the floor in a percussive way. Class includes exercises to explore rhythm and musicality in a way that is fun and exciting. Lyrical
Students learn to blend ballet and jazz techniques to creatively express the music and their emotions through movement. Class exercises build upon the dancers' foundational training while cultivating the freedom of artistic expression through music and movement. |
Intro and Primary Tap & Jazz
Students learn the basics of tap dance (as in Pre-Tap) as well as jazz, which is a fun, energetic style of dance that incorporates the technique of ballet. Class includes exercises to increase flexibility, build strength, and cultivate body awareness. |
Adult Beginner Ballet - Floor & Barre
Students learn how to use the muscles in a way to improve posture, lengthen the limbs, and increase agility in a judgement-free zone, where no dance experience is necessary. Class includes a short cardio warm up, floor barre, and standing barre. Adult Beginner Ballet - Center Work
Students build stamina and balance in the center through using classical ballet technique learned at the barre. Class includes standing stability exercises, across the floor movements, and optional turns and jumps. |
Adult Beginner Ballet - Barre & Center
Students learn classical exercises (as in the descriptions above) through the use of standing barre and center work. No dance experience necessary. |
